We are very pleased to announce that Jonathan Ellis will be our new Project Director.
Jonathan has years of experience as an advocacy campaign director, strategist and teacher and has long supported our work. You can read his profile at http://jonathanelliscampaigns.com/about-jonathan/
Jonathan said:
“Over the past decade I have admired how Detention Forum has challenged the use of immigration detention in the UK.
I have relished my involvement with this dynamic network in the past, and am utterly delighted to have been offered the role of Project Director.
It will be daunting to take over from Eiri Ohtani, but I am excited about supporting the Forum to build on their inspiring momentum for change.”
Eiri Ohtani, our current Project Director welcomed his appointment.
“Many of us in the Detention Forum, including myself, have learnt so much from Jonathan over the years, as we embarked on our change making process.
No doubt, Jonathan will bring much wisdom, knowledge and courage, qualities that will be particularly vital in 2020 and beyond.
I am absolutely thrilled to know that Jonathan will be joining the Detention Forum, and look forward to working with him.”
Jonathan and Eiri will be working together until the end of March during the handover process.
